George Harrisons "My guitar gently weeps" on a 4 string ukulele

Jake Shimabukuro: talented guy.
Father Ted
This guy is called Erik Mongrain........ and I have never seen a guitar played this way so well.

Father Ted
This guys talent is wasted sittin' in a bedroom filming himself!

The tune is Pachelbels 'Cannon in D'
Father Ted
Bianca Ryan.
11 years old!
Holy shit. What a voice.

No doubt the moguls will get hold of her and destroy her ability.
Father Ted
Not only a brilliant drummer, but a fantastic singer as well.

Father Ted
Playing the piano with your balls.

Father Ted
I would definitely give this guy money.

Father Ted
I think this is where Yehudi Menuhin would have gone if he lived another 25 years.
I am sure he would have loved it.

Father Ted
This is a husband and wife team from Siberia!

Rigsby
That might be the worst shiat I have heard in 10 years.

And with a world that includes Mariah Carey and Juliette Lewis, that's saying ALOT!
Father Ted
You know the way some songs hit you right between the eyes? - well, this is one of them.
The girl singing is called Lea Salonga, she's from the Philippines............ and 37 years old! She was also the original 'Kim' in Miss Saigon.

I have been fortunate to have seen her in Londons West End in both roles.

For info, she was also the singing voice of Princess Jasmine from Aladdin in 1992 and Fa Mulan for Mulan and Mulan II in 1998 and in 2004.

Reminds me of Marni Nixon! - the 'Goddess voice of Screen Musicals'
badbart
Wow. She's a cutie and has a surprisingly different voice from what I expected (she sounds like a Disney character).

She'll be in San Diego on June 5. Another live act I'll not be seeing...
puzzlehead
Oh, every Flip knows of Lea Solonga. She's who many of my people look up to when they think of a successful Flip.

As far as the Siberians, that there is some mighty strong harmonizing >.< Reminds me of Tibetan throat singing.
Father Ted
Father Ted
Not new........... I seen this long ago and had forgotten about it.

I'm a mug for little Princesses.
Obviously so is Simon Cowell.

Mind you, you could see the contemptuous look on his face when she first walked on.
Father Ted

The Robotic Band! (The Trons)

It's amazing what you can do with a Mechano Set, a few solenoids and some servos.

Father Ted
As most of you know, I'm a huge fan of the 'Musicals'.

Last night, I stuck this DVD on whilst I was working:

The music is just wonderful. Every single track.
It's 100% live, filmed at the Royal Albert Hall, with a huge orchestra in the background.

Tina Arena does a fantastic version of 'Whistle Down the Wind'
(look at the hairs on her arm! - I think she was a tad nervous)
I love it when she goes full tilt at about 3 minutes............

HERE is the studio version.
I'll also take the opportunity to brag about the version my daughter does. You'd find it difficult to tell the difference between her and Tina Arena............ Honest!
But then that's my daughters vocation after all.

And as for this..................... astounding!
'With One Look'
Glenn close, yes, 'Fatal Attraction' Glenn Close.
It's from the musical 'Sunset Boulevard', based on the 1950 film of the same title.
The plot revolves around Norma Desmond, a faded star of the silent screen era, living in the past in her decaying mansion on the fabled Los Angeles street. When young screenwriter Joe Gillis accidentally crosses her path, she sees in him an opportunity to make her comeback to the big screen.
You'll see the character Joe Gillis at the start. That's who she's singing to:

Enjoy..............

I was gonna leave it that, but you should watch this:
Phantom of the Opera - Antonio Banderas & Sarah Brightman........... yeah, Antonio Banderas! - and Andrew Lloyd Webbers ex wife, Sarah Brightman.
Banderas actually does a pretty good job. Not as good as Michael Crawford though.

..............and if you want a good laugh, this was her back in 1978.
I bought this! ohmy.gif

She still looked like Miss Piggy. rofl.gif

Rigsby
I'm not a big opera person, but strong voices blow me away.

Sarah Brightman has an amazing voice.

I am also a HUGE fan of Andrea Bocelli.

So, when the two of them sing Time To Say Goodbye together I am a blubbering mess by the end.

P.S. I wish I could embed videos.
Father Ted
queltor
Sweet! That bird has rhythm.

I'm not so sure about head-banging to Backstreet Boys... seems out of place.
Father Ted

Raw talent.

badbart
I'm not sure if this one's already here (a bunch of Ted's videos are blocked by the IT nazis at work), but I just stumbled across this one on youtube.

Faryl Smith. She's 12.

Amazing.
Father Ted
Impressive. Very impressive.

The next Charlotte Church perhaps?

EDIT:

But I did find this, same song,.............but the full 7 minute before and after, Simon Cowell edition.

That was actual the final of 'Britains Got Talent 2008'
But ironically, she didn't even make the top three!

This is the young fellow that won:
His Audition.

And his winning performance in the eventual final:
